Hell, for that matter has anyone designed an ac adaptor insert for the
battery compartment to use the HP as a permanant desktop addition?

:)I was wondering if there was a way to still use an HP that had a broken
:)screen. (Totally purple, can't see nuthin'). Is there some way or a
:)program (other than the hp emulators on a computer) that the screen
:)output can be seen on a pc? possibly by sending everything through the
:)serial port? or a fancy way to echo the screen through the IR port?
Yes, get emu48 from alomost any good hp48 web site.

Well, it wouldn't be to hard. You could probably make money off it to. I'm
no electronics major, but the device would have to rectify the current,
transform it down to 4.5? volts, and fit into the calc. You would also
have to check and see if the calculator has the batteries set up weird.
AKA: 2 batteries in paralell and the other in series or something like
that. (I think I got it backwards). That would be a pain. So, anyone up to
the task?!

PS: I would probabnly buy one if it existed.

Try 'TRM48' from Bill and / or Steven Severinghaus (wsev...@uni.uiuc.edu
or ssev...@uni.uiuc.edu).
Lib-number is 1633
It's a very fast Lib to control the HP48 with a Terminalprogram.
