I have posted Conn4x Build 2361 on my web page at:
http:\\www.debug4x.com

You may download it and share with others. It does require that HP's
build 2439 be loaded first (don't let the different build numbers
bother you too much!).

Build 2361 does allow backup on HP 48Gx to work and it has a
diagnostic Log feature for problems.

Good Luck to all

Bill,

Thanks again for your ongoing commitment & support of this software.

Can also confirm this version works with the Hp 48 GX & G+.

Cheers,

Dear William.
Thank you very much for posting the Conn4x Build 2361. I tested today
and it works fine!!! (I really appreciate your dedication to provide
us a solution).
I simply copied the exe file into my previous installation directory
and ran from there and backup, restore and screen captures worked
fine

PD.1 Do not uniinstall the previous version!!!

There is some Debug4xb160, I clicked and it is the "Setup wizard for
the development kit". Can you please tell me what is this one?

Greetings. from Guatemala.
Julio.

PD.2 I now turn off my calc using the coma mode to improve my battery
life. I hope this was the main problem of my calc (too weak NiCad
rechargeable batteries). I would like to know if the battery lasts
more than 3 months for other users...but I really would like to check
my double-zener diode voltage regulator 56A3 (56A6) with my
multimeter.
(I really would like to know what I'm doing, and if one diode burned
up, I would like to know how to replace the component with 2 Zener
diodes of the right voltage, before damaging any component). Does
anyone knows if I could contact senior engineer. Dave Arnett? (hoping
we will have some minutes to answer my circuitry dilemmas)
Juilio.

Debug4x is a software development kit for SysRPL for the 48, 49, and
50 calculators.

Dear Bill:
Debug is a RPL programming enviroment? Can users create their own
programs there in RPL, compile and send them to the calculator?
Best regards (and thank you again for the b2361, it works nicely!!)
Julio.

PD. Sometimes I'm asked on the Conn4x with my HP48G before connecting
or doing data transfer, if I should use ALG or RPN. What's the
difference?

Mr Graves when I follow your instructions to install the latest
'BETA' version of your software I get the following Error messages:

2.Access Violation at Address 0044B8F0 in Module Conn4x.exe

There is a little support for RPL but not much. Look up "SysRPL" it is
the ROM language of the calculator - much close to machine language
(Saturn-also supported in Debug4x). In either case Debug4x does not
support communication with the calculator, that is handled by Conn4x.
There actually was a time when the two were one program but not
anymore!

Sorry to hear that, Harold, but there really is not much I can do
about it. I am not setup for support or diagnosis. What is happening
to you is very unusual in my experience. I just don't have an answer.

Dear Harold
Conn4x 2361 works quite good, but you have to install the 2439 version
before.

I have installed this version first and configurated the communication
parameters (COM1, 9960)
http://www.hpcalc.org/details.php?id=5411

Then I copied the Conn4x 2361.exe into my installation directory.
And it worked perfectly. (connections, backup and restore, everything
was fine!!) You just need to patch the previous installation.

You can do the other way around, create the path c:\program files
\Hewlett packard\Conn4x and copy the Conn4x 2361,exe and the Conn4x
files of the previous installation there.

If you run Conn4x 2361 alone, you'll get a crash.
I hope this helps. Best regards.
Julio.

Hi,

Just tested this build 2361 and it works good. The screen capture and backup options on the HP48G G+ and GX worked good.

Note:

Copy the build 2361 to:

C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\Conn4x\

But, do not replace Conn4x.exe, just copy build 2361 and leave it as is: Conn4x_b2361.exe

Then, run it from there and all should work fine.

IF you replace Conn4x.exe with build 2361, then you get some memory error stuff, which have no idea what they are.

Again, thank you Bill for this fix.

Regards,
-Steve.

Where do you get a copy of version 2361? It is not on HP's Web Site as
far as I can tell.
