Much like algebraic mode on an HP 49G mimicks the TI-89, there is now an
assembly language program "RPN" by Lars Frederiksen of Denmark that
implements an HP-like RPN interface on the TI-89 or TI-92+. (The
comprehensive User's Guide, a PDF file, was written by Doug Burkett of
Ohio, USA.)

Go to http://scs.ticalc.org/, then select and go to the Download Area from
the pull down menu. Select RPN and then click on Download RPN for the
package (a Zip file).

Kudos to Lars: this is an impressive piece of coding!

This could be a solution for those who like RPN and also like who like TI 89's
math approach ("give you the common answer you probably want") versus HP 49's
approach ("give you all the tools to find the best answer provided you know
what you're doing").

I don't (currently) own a TI so I haven't been able to try the program. I
must admit this piece of software tempts me to buy one (but I won't let go of
any of my HPs). Can anybody who has used this program comment on it's power
extent and flexibility.

Download the .ZIP file and unzip the .PDF documentation. That will give you
an excellent idea of how powerful the system is. It almost makes it worth
it to buy a TI! (I already have one but if I didn't....)
