Step 1: place a number on the stack.

Step 2: press [MTH] [NXT] [PROB] [!].
-or- press [alpha] [left-shift] [DEL] [ENTER].
-or- type FACT and press [ENTER].

Everybody else: How many other ways are there?

To calculate a factorial, put the number on the stack, and hit the MTH key,
which shows some math menus on the bottom of the screen

Then hit the softkey (the white key under the menu item) for PROB. You may
have to type NXT before you see prob. I don't remember and do not have my
calculator at hand.

Then there should be (if memory serves me correctly) under the third softkey an
" ! ". This is the button you press to find a factorial.

There are ways to bypass this entire sequence if you will be finding factorials
often. One is to make a small program that will run the ! command from the VAR
menu.

<< ! >>
'fact' STO

and then hit VAR and hit the softkey for FACT.

Hope it helps,
Jeremy

this uses the CHARS screen... amazing to see and use the first time...

Propably a million or so, but here are some that I like (but never use, of
cource)

Example of recursive program, and use of IFTE (IF THEN ELSE END) in
algebraics

'Fact(n)=IFTE(n==1,1,n*Fact(n-1))' left-shift DEF will create a recursive
program called Fact in your var-menu.
(note double =, means 'is equal to')

A small program

<< 1 1 ROT FOR n n * NEXT >>

Evaluate the integral 'INT(0,infinity,EXP(-t)*t^x,t)' for any integer or
positive x. This will return the factorial of x. The HP can't integrate to
infinity, but an upper limit of say 5*x and a resolution of 2 FIX should do.

The hp has two diferent factorials built in, one for integers and one for
reals. Both can be reached via sysevals, but that is not recommended.
