Learn some machine code and then come back later for help, eh? I
really don't need this relatively intelligent newsgroups polluted by
the game requests that have destroyed the TI boards.
Engineering is a lot more fun anyway.

Atleast he's not posting about getting rich in 30 days or porn. :)
Why don't you do it? Learn TICC and Basic. C++ wouldn't even be bad
to learn while you're at it. When you write the game, post it at
HPCalc, then all of us Mathematicians and Engineers will calculate the
amount of time it will take before some poor kid (who can't afford a
Playstation2) will download it, play it, and realize that calculators
are not meant for coding or playing games. Wait a minute, as a side
thought, buy a Gameboy Advance for US $70. Then you won't have to
learn how to code, and you can have your temporary pleasure. That's
what they were made for anyways!
Aaron
Please don't insult this newsgroup by asking if there are any good
programmers in this NG. Who do you think posts here? How about the
people who porgrammed the HP calulator operating systems. They post
here quite regularly. And don't double insult them by asking if they
will code a game for YOU. And lastly, try searching HPCalc before
posting lame questions like this. Go out and buy a GameBoy.
Enough of my bitching, have a nice day.

Why are you so harsh one him ?
So much for the nice HP community.
What the point of your answer anyway ?
As a side answer, I've seen a phoenix game for the HP49. I don't know the
TI89 version so I don't know how it compares.
Jean-Yves
I know the quality of the reactions you got makes it seem like this
is a newsgroup of duds, but there really are some good programmers
here. And some of them have written pretty good games.
Someone commented that calculators aren't for games. I think if
you bought and paid for your calculator then you're entitled to
decide what it's for. But there are some smart people in this
group. They'll figure that out in time. :)
Barry
I'm selfish. I'd rather come here seeing posts that explain things
relevant to what the calculator was designed for rather than posts
requesting games. If he was desigining the game, more power to him
and I hope he gets his question answered - but when he's not making an
effort to learn anything about the calculator - it's just too much
like the people at www.ticalc.org who request the impossible because
they have not taken the time to research what they are requesting. It
is lazy and annoying to me.
You are right however, better of me to not say anything at all.
-Louis
A few people here were a bit harsher with you in their replies than
they should have been, but that's no excuse for inflicting such obscene
garbage on the rest of us. Doing things like that might lead some to
dismiss you as an obnoxious little punk who doesn't deserve anyone's help.
You might also consider using your school time for learning, rather than
sneaking in games. Perhaps it would help you to write less abusive
articles. At the very least you might learn to use proper spelling,
grammar and punctuation.

I can see how my post comes across as harsh. It wasn't meant to be..
I just come to this newsgroup for knowledge on mathematics &
engineering. Not games. Its your calc & you may do with it what you
wish, but I was still offended being asked to code a game for a
calculator. And I imagine others were to. I just had to spill my
feelings on the subject. I don't reflect the groups feelings in any
way. I mean nothing personal towards you. As my wife always says to
me: "You have so much potential." I think we all have potential.
Good luck on finding your game! :)
Aaron
THINK in the reader's of your posts, BTW many of them are not english
speakers.
Have you think that typing in the rigth way is easier to understand what you
mean?
Raul
If you look for a post from Alberto ("HP49 ML Help please", November 12),
you will see in my OT answer what I think about typing in this way

What is my job? Be offended or writing games?
Former: ok, latter: Am I French?
