If I could program it I would do it. I thing this is THE perfect platform to port EMU48. Any takers?

After I read your post I just started.

It is pleasure for me to work for you for free and give you what ever
you want, especially by the great effort you have shown.

Don't feed the trolls.

I don't think he ever said "gimme an HP 50g emulator *for free*," did he?

I'm actually amazed at just how cheap, e.g., iPhone apps are -- most
applications for Windows Mobile smart phones (those pre-Win Phone 7) were
typically in the $10-$25 range; Apple has managed to push that down to more
like $2-$10!

I am developing WP7 apps now, I just don't know how to 'emulate' hardware like the hp 50g. I had PAID emulators in my recently-stolen iPod Touch. And before any smart comment, I own real 48gx, 49g and 50g as well. I think WP7 is a much better platform for such a project.

Yes, time will tell just how successful the Windows Mobile OS will be
- but I agree with you, I think they finally got it right with 7.
Both desktop and mobile, actually. I'm sure someone will step up
eventually and port it for a fee, which will be great and give us some
choice over the iPhone.

This brings up a good question: Do you think HP realizes the sheer
amount of apps that are downloaded each year? If THEY could port the
HP50G ROM and emulation software to iPhone, Win7, Android, and their
own PalmOS, they might turn a nice profit on it, and maybe that would
keep RPL and the 48/49 series programs going strong for long into the
future. Now that they have Palm and phones, they may be more
interested as time progresses.

Also, I wonder if they will ever merge the great features of the
48/49/50G Calcs with a mobile device and come up with a *useful*
hybrid. We could debate all day long the advantages and disadvantages
of a "true" calc vs hybrid mobile device, but...interesting what Casio
has done with their latest calc, the PRIZM fx-CG10, very impressive in
a way - 65K color screen and 16MB RAM onboard. (Yes, I know that calc
has limitations, but take a look at the screen and that shows you the
future.)

Now that HP is off of the Saturn CPU and onto the ARM architecture,
they have much more options for higher quality screens, etc, in their
next device(s)...without losing all the backward compatibility due to
emulating the Saturn over the ARM CPU. As the ARM CPUs get faster
over time, and better battery usage, they can show massive speed
increases over what users expect from the 48 Series, even running in
emulation modes.
