Greetings all,

I've had a very hard time finding any web pages that list HP SCSI HD specs
and jumpers. HP own pages don't seem to have anything on older drives
anymore! I would surely appreciate any help getting information for the
following models:

1. HP D1699A 430MB SCSI
2. HP C2235 ?? SCSI

They use a bunch of jumpers which is what is so frustrating about HP not
having the info online anymore!

Thanks,

Byron

HP, of course, didn't manufacture them. They're probably a Seagate or Quantum.
Check the ID string when you boot the system - the manuafactor's ID and model #
may be in the string. You can then go to their web page.

Byron,

To have a good time, try the following URL: :)

http://theref.c3d.rl.af.mil/theref.html

Actually, you can probably find the info you need there, compiled by
Robert Falbo... Ben

<http://www.hp.com/cposupport/docindex/hpc223xhar9701.html> has a lot of
info about the C2235, including jumper settings.

Daniel's response is apt.....the drive is most likely a Seagate or something
UN-hp.

In my case I had to reconfigure the ID jumpers on a Barracuda in my HP
workstation. I just called Seagate up and
a tech there told me what jumpers where for the ID I had in mind.
