Hi!

I'm looking for some advice regarding replacing the power supply
on our K400 server. We want to avoid the high prices involved in
purchasing a new power supply directly from HP, so I phoned up a
couple third party vendors of "refurbished" HP equipment.

Vendor A says: I can give you power supply model #0950-3032 for $1550.
It will work fine in your K400.

Vendor B says: I can give you power supply model #0957-0279 for $475,
It is from a K200, but all the K-boxes use the same
power supply, so this will work fine in your K400.

The power supply that shipped with the box is model #0950-2463.

By this time, I'm feeling like I should get some reliable information
on what the different part numbers mean, and which model #'s are
truely compatible with our K400. Since there is such a difference in
price, I'm really curious about other differences. I'd like to make an
informed choice.

Does anybody have such info? Can anybody point me to a good source,
hopefully something I can access electronically?

Thanks so much!
