We have recently cold installed HPUX 11.0 (May 99 Extension Pack 9905)
on a B-Class 715/64 (model 9000/715/D) machine and everything works fine
until we try to change any of the kernel parameters in sam e.g. maxuprc
from 128 to 256 [maximum maxuprc = Nproc - 4 = 20+(8*maxusers) - 4 =
20+(8*32) - 4 = 272 ] and rebuilt the kernel. After the rebuild it
appears that the swap paration lvol02 is no longer available and the
machine panics and constantly reboots.
The only way to log in is to interupt the boot sequence and to boot the
/stand/vmunix.prev kernel build in single user mode and copy vmunix.prev
to vmunix system.prev to system and the directory dlkm.vmunix.prev to
dlkm.
Have we perhaps missed a patch for mk_kernel?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
