Hey,

Thanks to everyone for their comments on getting memory for this type of HP.
I've ordered 128MB from Crucial Tech and it should be here really soon. I
did have a question about installing it, though.

As a refresher, the 4550Z has 2 DIMM slots (bank 0/bank 1). Currently, I
have 64MB in bank 0 and nothing in bank 1. Do I need to move the 64MB to
bank 1 and put the new 128MB module in bank 0? Or, can I just put the 128MB
in bank 1 and be done with it?

Thanks again!

Cheers,
Drew

Hi,

Just wanted to follow up on this. I read several sources and heard from a
bunch of people that it didn't matter where I put the higher capacity DIMM.
But, I heard from HP and they said that I should put the higher one in the
first DIMM bank. Also, the people I bough from, Crucial Tech, said that I
could put it anywhere, but if I had problems, to do what HP said. So, to be
safe, I followed HP's instructions, and I'm up and running @ 192MB.

Again, thanks for all your help.

Cheers,
Drew
