Hello,

I have a question related to the DVI TMDS (Transition Minimized
Differential Signaling). I realize this has little to do with HP
specifically --and I would appreciate it if you could direct me to a
more relevant forum with knowledgeable people on the issue-- but I
though that this forum should have technical knowledge to point me in
the right direction.

My problem is as follows: I want to translate output coming from
one computer's DVI port --which is sent using the TMDS (Transition
Minimized Differential Signaling) protocol-- back into software
accessible data on a second computer.

That is, instead of having the DVI output go directly into the
monitor, I want it directed to a second computer in a form that can be
processed by software. Is there a combination of a hardware device and
some software that can do that for me?

I would appreciate any help or direction to a more relevant forum.

Thank you,
Alex K.

Your question is best addressed to hardware engineers through the Video
Electronics Standards Association, to monitor manufacturers or graphics
card companies, all of whom share and adhere to the same electronic
specifications. Or you might use your friend Google to find what you

I've read the content of both of those links before posting the
question. However,
I want to see if I can avoid writing all the low-level software myself
-- and I
certainly can not construct whatever devices might be needed by
myself.

Thank you for the help though -- I will try to contact some hardware
engineers
through the channels you mentioned in the previous post.
