Thanks,
Before I bought my New P90 I used a Pro Spect with scsi & cd-rom along
with the HP Scanjet IIcx without any problems, it was a no-brainer
installation. I made sure to use the scanner card for the scanner, and
the cd-rom with the pro spect. The scanner interface is optimized for use
withthe scanner, on my p90 it only takes a few seconds to scan an 8.5" x
11" at 16.4m/colors and at 300 dpi.

I've never been inclined to try it, as I have enough slots to use the
HP-supplied McSCSI ISA card.
First, you need to acquire an ASPI or CAM driver for the Trantor SCSI
chip on the PAS16. I have no idea if that exists. Trantor is owned
by Adaptec now, so start with their BBS (and I don't have the number).
Second, the Trantor SCSI is really slow. It may be adequate for CD-ROM
(which is how I'm using mine), but even if the ScanJet works when
connected to it, it may run in start-stop-backup-restart judder mode ALL
the time.

Ditto for me, although I have a Sound Blaster 16ASP SCSI-2 controller.
I kept my CDROM drive hooked to the sound blaster, and added the HP SCSI
card to drive the scanner.
As Mark says, the scanner works nicely (fast) with the HP SCSI card,
I'm really happy with the ScanJet IIcx.

Hi,
I have my scanjet IIcx connected to the PAS 16 SCSI and it works fine,
but then I use NT 3.5 and I expect this sort of thing to work well.
Hope this is a clue.
