desktop app on pocket pc work "well"?

Just thinking of getting a pocket pc and installing the Random House
Unabridged Dictionary onto the pda as the RH dictionary is also a
windows app. I mean installing the dictionary onto a pda's memory
card however it is done via the desktop.

Would the dictionary work "sort of" like on the desktop without the
multi-media graphics, but would have the sound for pronunciation?
Other than that, I have no need for a pda.

Is the RH dictionary a Windows Pocket PC Application? Regular Windows
programs will not run on Pocket PC. Need to be specifically compiled for
Pocket PC.

The RH dictionary is a regular windows application. Guess I won't get
a Pocket PC.
