Hi all, I've managed to find a few PC Companions at Marina Park,
at mail order place in New York, the number is (800) 262-0163.

Now the price they quoted was ~$240 EACH, but the package I
got had the Quick Connect, the modem, the AC Adapter and the
2 Meg upgrade (not the WinCE 2.0, ps I'm willing to sell these 2 Meg
upgrades at $100 if anyone needs one without the WinCE upgrade).

Note that you have to be very specific what you ask for, and verify
that they are sending you a 'real' system. Apparently they have
'grey market' systems which are aimed at other countries, and
which don't go through the same 'standard' testing before leaving
the factory.

Also make sure that you don't get ripped on the shipping cost.

But considering the package it actually might be worth the
$240 if you manage to sell the 2 Meg upgrade (if not it will
just sit around after you upgrade to WinCE 2.0).

Hopefully this helps out anyone still looking for the system,
I had a C140 from Office Depot and returned it to get a
C120+ and ended up losing out on BOTH systems and
was not able to find another until now (a month later!).
I also don't like seeing the way people have been getting
ripped on the newsgroups with the scalpers selling the
systems for jacked up prices!

PS If I can find any of those $50 coupons I will pick some
up and let everyone know where to get them, 8^)

Take care!

Well... Let's see who is the "scalper". You are "willing" to sell 2Meg
upgrades for $100.00, when Compaq is selling the WinCE 2.0 WITH the 2Meg
upgrade for $99.00....

Seems that the "True Scalper" has shown up.

BTW, from the description, it seems that you bought the C-120+. Office
Depot was selling that same unit for $139.00.

And yes, I am one of the, as you say, scalpers who is selling C-140's
that I bought at Office Depot....

Welcome to the Scalpers Club......

The purpose of my posting was to show people where to find the complete
units,
not to sell the memory... The memory was only mentioned because I wouldn't
mind selling it in order to get the WinCE2.0 upgrade. Everyone knows that
the
WinCE2.0 upgrade is $99, AND comes with the 2Meg, but some people might
not want the upgrade (just the memory) since the new OS causes a performance

hit. The details of the memory sale are in another post which specifically
goes
into detail about the memory etc., It is made quite clear in my post that
this
is NOT the WinCE 2.0 upgrade. The $100 price is quoted because that's
what I've seen this memory listed as.

For all practical purposes it is, even though they claim it's 'not'. The
package
is the same as the C120+, ie the quick connect, adapter, and modem are all
in the package with the companion. The memory comes in a package which
is even marked 2 Meg memory upgrade, contrary to what the company said.
But the bottom line is that they have the units, and the overall value is
better
than buying one of the 'scalper' units.

I hope that you are at least using one of those units and not just using
them all
for profit...

I don't think I'm scalping, I told people where to find the unit, and how to

make sure they get what they want. The price I listed for the memory was
the price that I was told they sold at, now if I was asking for a price like
$150
etc., I would consider that scalping.

At the very least, don't buy all the units from the store, let some other
people
have a chance at it.

Thank you,
