Hi... looking for media of VAX Ultrix 4.1 and VMS 6.0 .. specifically those versions.

I had the media at some point in the past... Can't put my fingers on it since a house move a year or so ago...

Can anyone help?

Cheers!!

There is a VMS 6.0 TK50 image at VAXHaven. It doesn't specify if it's VAX or Alpha though. I'm thinking it has to be VAX because I don't think Alpha switched to the V6 numbering until V6.1

Hi,

Thanks - I saw that tape. It's VAX alright but it's tape 2/2. It boots but doesn't have the VMS install save sets. Here's the contents:

Oh, duh. Sorry. I thought of that but for some reason didn't figure that Ian would post just half of an install kit. I thought the zip might have both sets.

Too bad you don't need VAX V6.1 or V6.2 I have CD's for those. No V6.0 though.

The original OpenVMS VAX Hobbyist CD has installation kits for
OpenVMS VAX V5.4, V5.5-2 (including mandatory update kits) as
well as V6.0 V6.1 and V6.2.

I have a copy of this on my Google Drive at -

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1mN7xnCczOCTBPUPxUuT6axvfzxK1WzOw

Also, I collected a few of the OpenVMS VAX Updates before
access was withdrawn. These include Y2K updates. I don't
have the list of applicable updates for V6.0 - but you'll
find ones for V5.5-2 and V6.2 at the following -

V5.5-2 VAX

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1oZpat-XT8ZXXaInyg69QLVICrMZK4Nkq

V6.2 VAX

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1cCNtAZRXX7PKt65bgvYUyicQcQdhJyhy

V7.3 VAX

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1URvH_ncZjCHavYTYUf3JH1quPTmcGm5S

Also, I have the Ultrix VAX V4.5 Y2K updates at

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1EaPAj41iY7snBDKB2wEAdcrwUtI8Besb

Ultrix V4.5 is available on the net.

I meant to reply by e-mail, but it's nowleaked out into
USENET.

I'll cancel this post if I get any complaints regarding
making the patches available (semi-)publically.

I'm glad you did. I never had the chance to get the original Montegar Hobbyist CD. I also grabbed as many patches as I could when we had warning that HP was closing off access, but I don't know if I got them all and I concentrated on newer releases such as VAX 7.3 and Alpha 7.3, 7.3-1, and some V8.x ones.

Tony - that's fab thanks. That first ISO has the 6.0 installation in which is exactly what I was after. The patches are a bonus too, I never had those.

Just the elusive Ultrix 4.1 to track down now!

cheers

This too is still on the OpenVMS Hobbyist web site at

http://www.openvmshobbyist.com/~patj/vbegin.htm

but I thought it worth preserving as a PDF file too.

It's Pat Jankowiak's original "How to Build a New VAX/VMS System with Little or No Prior Experience" for use with the VAX/VMS Hobbyist Kit V1 (converted from HTML to PDF)
