I recently mentioned that after I had used LANCP to change the ethernet
controller from 10 HD to 100 FD I started getting errors on PEA0: on the
machines where that was done (and stopped getting errors on a machine
which has always autonegotiated to 100 FD). Also, at least when logged
in via LAT, I noticed occasionally screen freezes when typing then,
after a second or two, the buffered text was output all at once. I
rebooted the cluster today and set the controllers to 100 FD at the
console level. Since then, both problems have disappeared. (I now have
only 1 error each on all DQ devices on the machine hosting them. I
don't use these, the error count doesn't increase and I think this is
a "feature", so I won't worry about these errors.)

These are normal for each IDE port (two channels, master & slave each)
which do not have a device attached. There's a corresponding entry in the
error log at boot time.
