I've been trying to get Kontakt 7 the full version working in MPC 2.11 but it only recognizes kontakt player 6 (which can't play the Kontak 7 libraries). I tried sending an email to get Komplete Start which has Kontakt 7 player but still don't see Komplete Start in my Native Access account to download.

Any reason why its not showing up, its free after all and I have a paid version of Kontakt7. Also why is Kontak 7 not showing up in MPC? MPC works with other vst3 plugins but it will only recognize Kontakt 6 Player...

I have all serials registered but there is no kontakt 7 player, just kontakt 7. I have a kontakt 6 player that doesn't play my kontakt 7 factory selection in MPC. Does Kontakt 7 player even exist at native instruments?

MPC 2.11+ is more advanced than mpc beats it works with hardware and runs as a standalone daw on windows. MPC beats is a lite version of MPC 2. I'm not sure if the lite version is vst 3 compatible but MPC 2 (the full software is). I'm doing a check on the vst3 plugins that work. I suspect there might be some kind of bridge plugin that can run vst3 plugins that don't work in it. So far Kontakt is the first one I've run into that doesn't work.

I just bought Duets and the KarriemRigginsDrums from the Play Series instruments and when I try to use them, I get a message that says my version of Kontakt Player (Kontakt 6 Player) is too old to use these instruments. My other instruments, like the Rickenbacker Bass, still work fine. I know that Kontakt 7 doesn't work with Mojave. I'm just wondering if there is a way to download the Kontakt 7 Player by itself. All I really want is the plugin for the Kontakt 7 Player so that I can play these new instruments. I can't update my OS because I have Protools 12 and I don't want to lose it and mess with my projects. Is this at all possible?

Monochrome I'm aware of this, per my question. I'm asking if it's possible to download the Kontakt 7 player by itself (without installing Native Access 2) and if it would work with Mojave as just a player.

So, after a while you want to remove Kontakt 5 and update to Kontakt 7. If you have saved your own presets for all your tracks, Kontakt 7 will recognize them and import them. So, when your DAW say "instrument not found" (for Kontakt 5) you will load Kontakt 7 and replace the older plugin and then you open your old preset in the new plugin version. All other possible channel settings you have (EQ, Insert FX etc) will not be affected.

Thanks a lot Wesley.

This path was actually the problem : C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3

Even uninstalling the program, Native Instrument keeps a big file (?!??) named kontakt.vst3 which contains the entire hidden Kontakt Player 6 software.

Removing it was the solution.

What is vocal colors - is it a vst plug-in? a kontakt library? a Reaktor instrument? I installed it with native access and now I'd like to try it. I see the vocal colors instrument in Komplete Kontrol, but when I want to load a preset, there is an error message "Loading Issue. Could not load Plug-in." But which plug-in cannot be loaded? Reaktor?

I bought Vocal Colours, I have Kontakt 6 and Kontakt player 7.6. In Player I get the error below but I cannot download 7.7 from Native Access...because it is not there as an update. Also a lot of libraries do not work in Kontakt 6 anymore after updates (I know install the old versions but that is really really not my mistake because Native Access made me do it without any warning ;-) ) I can't understand how an accomplished manufacturer like NI can mess up so big.

Icon Bass pops a message in both the stand alone from Komplete Kontrol and inside Logic Pro that says, "Missing Plugin, could not be loaded". Electric Vintage states different message of "Loading Issue, plugin not found".

The one question I would ask though... I have tried completely removing NI to reinstall it, but this doesn't seem to work. Do you know if there is a method for backing up Logic projects so that I can just reimage my Mac Mini and get everything back to a working state? I have a feeling I have conflicting xmls or files that are causing the issue with the NI suite. Since the majority of the plugins I use are in the NI suite, it might just be easier to reimage. My only concern is that the projects won't restore/hold what plugins I have used within the NI applications. I obviously also learned my lesson on not using Time Machine.

Jeremy_NI Hi Jeremy. When I tried to load Kontakt, it would just error stating I didn't give it full access rights. I had done this, yet it still would not work. I have now reimaged my Mac Mini and started with a fresh install. However, I am still having issues. All applications (Kontakt, Komplete, etc) have loaded after I once again gave full access permissions. Yet, none of my instruments will load... actually, nothing outside of the 20+ apps will load even though I have given permissions to both the Native Access 2 and Daemon, as well as any of the NI Apps like Komplete. This leaves me with 140+ plugins not loading and erroring with a message that they don't have full access rights.

I have opened a support ticket, but I am at a complete loss. This is all due to buying 3 new plugins and needing to install Native Access 2. Not sure why I would continue to spend this kind of money (I have Komplete 13 Standard + several one-off plugins) when I can use nothing as of right now.

I just upgraded to Reason 12 and the Kontakt player is super tiny as others have complained out. Coming here, the thread is closed with no solution. However, I was able to fix the issue for myself. Curious if this will work for others.

I have a bunch of horn lines that I put in via MIDI into Logic Pro X. Now that I have added the Kontakt Player plugin, I'd like the horn section sounds I purchased to use the existing midi tracks with the purchased sounds. But I can't get it to work.

Here's something I've been thinking about: Would it be a good idea to take older Spitfire libraries and make them available in the Spitfire dedicated plugin...?? If you already own the Kontakt Full sampler that's ok, but if you don't now you have to invest in other third party product in order to use whatever library you want to use. I know there are libraries available with the Kontakt free player, but is there a real advantage to use the Kontakt Full VS the Spitfire dedicated plugin...??

Kontakt does allow you to have fewer instances of a plugin open, with several articulations loaded in each player, but I find that the SAP is extremely light and even a modest CPU (by todays standards) can handle multiple instances. My main system for BBCSO is a 2018 iMac i5. It can easily manage 60-80 active instances of the plugin with high polyphony. My 2nd system is an older iMac i5 using VEP and Kontakt libraries. I would like to unify my collections and have only (1) workspace to navigate.

I would really like to see this as well. There are several libraries that I would like to purchase, but they require Kontakt. As the OP stated, I do understand about the 'free' version of Kontakt, but I have not had an overly positive experience with it. So, the only libraries I ever consider purchasing are the ones using the Spitfire plugin.

Opposite here. I won't buy libraries that use the dedicated plugin. I need to be able to customize my sounds to suit my needs. With Kontakt I can apply alternate tunings, change keyranges, and fix out of tune notes. Don't like the attack or decay of a note or zone? Fix it. Reroute, add or subtract effects, modulation sources and destinations, not to mention being able to make instruments from scratch.

Well, I would certainly turn Edward's concerns into a wishlist for the dedicated plugin for additional parameters that appear to be missing. No doubt, Spitfire will continue to update their plugin to eventually make Kontakt largely redundant. While I only know LABS and Discovery, I find the concept already exceptional and beautiful to use and easily imagine these to grow towards perfection.

Kontakt is a heavy environment and it takes a lot more experience and patience to handle it. One thing I like is that I can run one instance and hook individual instruments to different channels, effectively making it multi-timbral. I haven't seen that possibility with the dedicated plugin, yet. One big advantage of it would be the obvious adjustment of general settings, particularly effects. I'd put that on a wishlist, too.

That would need a serious rework of the spitfire player. I think the solution is to have it both ways, being able to have it in Kontakt, as well as with the spitfire player, so both worlds are happy. Certain people (media composers) have huge templates, we are talking about hundreds and sometimes thousands of tracks with instruments and articulations loaded through VEP or just Kontakt. The way this stand-alone plugin is now it's not scalable to very big projects or templates. You mentioned LABS and Discovery but in Core and Pro you can load/unload articulations (techniques), although it's still loading samples that you don't use and it's not multi-timbral, so it might be a problem with limited RAM and very big projects, especially since things like M1 come with such limited amount and you need quite a lot more.

The library was free for a while, but a recent update introduced Kontakt Player compatibility. This means that you can simply install it and use it with the free Kontakt Player plugin without any workflow restrictions.

Make sure that the folder in which the Kontakt plugin resides is listed in the place where Gig Performer is looking for plugins. Sometimes Native Instruments installs its plugins to a different location than other plugins.
