I think it is normal until you load PromOS, programming software for the C1.
Thanks. My next quesition I see is that I see a 27(c)64 (28 pin) EPROM
can be used to replace a 24 pin CBM chip. Does this modification need
to be done before programming or after programming the chip?
After programming.
After programming.
I make my own adapters as I need them, usually by sandwiching a couple of
sockets, making an adapter or modifying the ROM directly. See my hires pics
http://www.users.on.net/~clockmeister/ for ideas
and there is useful general cartridge making information gathered from
around the web at this site http://www.n2dvm.com/info.html
When using a binary downloaded of the net you need to add 0020 (load address
$2000) to the beginning of the file using Winhex or similar when using a
C=/C1/PROMOS to program EPROMs.
Ahh Mr Clocky beats me to the punch. I have been tinkering with a
promenade C1 for a few weeks. Clocky can answer a bunch of your
questions and I can also answer some. To send me e-mail, remove NOSPAM
from my address.
Do you already have the promos v2.0? If not, I will make a .D64 image
of the same disk I use and that should take care of you for awhile.
Any questions, I am here to help. Check out my Commodore website,
LOTS of information and such. In the next few weeks, I will begin
working on a webpage on how to make 8K Commodore cartridges as that is
all I have done so far.
