The power switch, power receptacle, reset switch and probably joystick
port will be removed and relocated. Even then I still need to gain
about an extra 1/4-1/2 inch to fit. The alternative is to cut out the
backplate and fabricate something completely custom that sits on the
very back of the case, which would be difficult and may look like
total sh*t.
There doesn't appear to be any traces at the very edges of the board
and I don't see a problem removing the RF shield since it will be in a
PC tower case. I don't see why not, but better be safe an ask than
sorry.
I am eyeballing my 128D motherboard more and more now.. I am starting
to think the 128D MB is a better starting point. It's taller but not
as wide. Should fit fine with no cutting, it also has the 1571
controller built in.
Those are the VERY REASONS why I refuse all these people that are
continually asking me to "tower up" their 128's! I don't want to
damage the boards, jumper wire a bunch of connections, and
"basterdize" the Commodore.
