The hunt for SIDs continue, on the internet.
On a fairly regular basis ppl want to sell or buy SIDs.

The oddest thing is that ppl are willing to pay more for a
SID+shipping than a C64+shipping...

But also a question arises:
what does "AR" stand for in the "6581R4AR"?

Surely one of you knows the answer...

Cheers,
Mace

Already found the answer to my own question:
'Advanced Resonane'

This is interesting, I never heard about it before, a Google search links
this definition to the cbmhardware.de homepage. I have to look through my
collection of chips, but at the moment, I can't think of a CSG SID without
that "AR" mark. Maybe I have a 6581R4, from MOS, but I am not sure. I wonder
what the "amplified resonance" does, in terms of sound output and quality.

There seem to be doubts about the real meaning of AR.
Also, I have not found any 'real' confirmation or explanation of
'Advanced Resonance' or perhaps, like you suggest 'Amplified
Resonance'.

Would love to hear more about this.
