Hi, everyone,
Last night it was decided to change the name of the chat in honor
of our being on a new server. The #dan-mike chat is now the #c64friends
chat on the server irc.eskimo.com . The time and the day will stay the
same -- beginning 9 p.m. EST on Saturdays. Your host will be the same --
the inimitable Dave "Snogpitch" Witmer, president of the Cinncinati
Commodore Computer Club! And of course, the main topic of discussion --
Commodore (with a bit of Amiga).

Enjoy the chat (though I will
be at a Star Trek convention next
Saturday),

As long as you connect to a server on the same network, everything will be
fine. I was there from 9:02 until 9:39, and had something else to do, and
mosey'd along.

But, you should have seen someone in the #c64friends, since I was there (all
alone). If you tried to do a listing of rooms outside of that time, there
may have been noone there, and therefore the room didn't exist. We don't
have a bot keeping the room open constantly.

Maybe next week?

I did a /List on the irc.eskimo.com (irc.geekz?.com and another
server) but never found the channel in the listings.. I even tried
logining in via NewNet IRC servers after this, but no channel??

I tried for about 1 1/2 to find it, but guess I'll try again next
week.. Maybe I'll be more successful..

Like Dave "Snogpitch" Witmer wrote, if no one is in the channel,
it disappears. However, as soon as someone enters it, it reappears, i.e.,
it is created.

#c64friends on server irc.eskimo.com will start at 9 p.m. EST (6
p.m. PST) this Saturday. I should be there... no Star Trek convention
this time (William Shatner and Sally Kellerman were great on stage
yesterday).

Truly,
