Believe it or not, I found my last ribbon for my MPS801 at Radio
Shack.... our old, slow printer was not the only printer to use that
ribbon, apparently a T/RS printer used the same ribbon! You might pay
$8-10 for it, but if that is the last place to keep them......

I just bought a couple of ribbons from Office Max. The ribbon was made
by Nu-kote. If you have questions where to get one in your area call the
following number 1-800-448-1422 or write them at
Nu-kote International, Inc.

I had trouble finding a ribbon that worked in my MPS801 printer. I tried
Radio Shacks and several other brands and none of them worked. I was
about to throw the printer out and then I tried Pelikan brand ribbons. I
get them at the local office max but a lot of office supply stores carry
them. It is #Z106. If you can find them, give them a try!

Well, go back and laugh back at him. Words like "Hey, STUPID, try referencing
to Radio Shack PRINTERS" (preferably loud enough that the store manage
overhears) would help put him in his rightful place. But in case he is still
as clueless as the average Rat Shack sales-droid, it's the DMP-110. FWIW, the
1525 is the DMP-100.
I've usually found Rat Shack sales-droids to become quite humble when they find
out the DO sell items for Commodore computers. Unfortunately, Rat Shack sales
people who really know much about what they sell are rather rare. :)

As an interesting aside, a coworker who is a very good technician (used
to sort out grounding troubles in ITT's satellite communications systems)
tried to get a job as a manager at a local Radio Shack (downsizing cost
him his job, and a man's gotta eat). He was told that it was company
policy -not- to hire people with technical experience. Must be they
really want you to buy the wrong parts!

And they have ridiculous prices too.
