Does anyone know which models of the 1084S (not 1084) come with this switch
*and* LCA jacks (luma, chroma, audio)? The goal is to hook up a Commodore
128DCR with stereo audio output here, and display both 40-column and
80-column modes on it.
Any help appreciated!

Even that is allowed ;)
The 1084s/p has two seperate inputs for analog and digital RGB. If both
of them give a signal, the digital RGB takes precedence.

Chances are *very* big that if you open the monitor, you'll find soldering
pads for such a switch. The 1084S-p didn't have a SCART-plug either -
untill you open it yourself, and add one.

i have a phillips cm8833, cm8833-ii and a 1084S (the phillips monitors
are equal to some 1084S's)
the 8833 has three plugs: FBAS, analogue RGB via euroscart, digital RGB
via round DIN plug.
the 8833-II has two plugs: FBAS and a joystick-like 9 pin which is for
both, digital and analogue RGB. there's a switch on the back to
select digital/analogue RGB.
the 1084S has also the same two plugs with the same switch. it's almost
the same.
none of these monitors have lca jacks. only composite.

You are asking for information on a monitor that
you do not have. I am offering a couple of
guesses on the type of monitor that you do have.
Your operating manual and monitor are mismatched.
Your monitor may not be C128 compatible. If your
monitor is AMIGA only compatible, your monitor
model may not have that ANALOGUE/TTL switch.
Towards the end, Commodore tried to economize by
cutting out the C128 compatibility on their 1084
monitors. This may have been a futile attempt
at selling AMIGA computers to C128 people as well.
A more unlikely guess is that you may have a monitor
that senses what kind of computer is connected to it
and automatically adjusts the ANALOGUE/TTL settings.
Although you tell us what kind of switches
are missing on your monitor, I would like a
description of the switches, knobs and ports and
their labels that are present on your monitor.
Although I have a 1084S connected to a couple of C128D's,
I find the sound quality inferior to a full blown stereo.
I use the monitor's two speaker inputs for the monoaural
sound from each of the two computers. When I want a high
quality stereo sound, I connect a computer to a real life
stereo set and forget about the sound from the monitor.

Mine is Titled "Commodore 1084S". I have it running 24/7 in 80 col mode
for my Inet work <using it now> and my BBS. Hooked up with the RGB and the
three wire CGA lines. No problems on my end. No manual either.

Is it enough just to solder SCART connector on empty pads? I see empty places on
PCB for resistors. Does somebody know what values they are?
