does anyone know if firewire hard drives work in BeOS? i've got the ADS
Pyro card, which i've been using to connect to my DV camera. i need a new
hard drive and am considering alternatives to IDE. has anyone tried a
firewire drive with be? i need to know the performance (throughput,
compatibility, any quirks) and cpu usage, compared to the various grades
of IDE and SCSI. how about the IDE->1394 hdd converter kits? if you've
tried the drives in windows or macos but not be, or in addition to be, i
would appreciate your feedback on that too. please respond by email.

ps
no need to mention anything about price. i am fully aware of the cost. i
just need an objective evaluation.

Don't know about 1394 working with Be, but you might try looking at Mac web
sites & product vendors. They're most likely to have info on Firewire products
for performance info.
