BeBits ugliness

I'm posting this largely out of frustration, because I have major doubts
that anyone at BeBits is listening, but maybe someone who actually checks
this group occasionally might have a clue.

Whenever I try to post an app or an udate on BeBits, I am completely
foxed by a "backslash plague". Whenever I include a single or double
quote in description text (HTML only, I think, but I often *need* that),
it gets "escaped" by a backslash, which in turn get escaped by a
backslash, which gets escaped... By the time I see the preview, the
page has almost been obscured by lines and lines of slashes!

This never happened in the first ten years of BeBits, but its been
dogging me for at least a year now. I can't imagine I'm the only one
suffering -- I've tried both NetPositive and Firefox, and both do it,
so I can't see how it'd be peculiar to my end (and it doesn't happen
on other sites). I've emailed Bebits support, but I don't think
anyone is there.

Unless there's a fix, I doubt I'll be doing much more uploading...

Make a donation? I bet they'd "listen" to your complaints then :)
Write and ask them why their donations link is b0rK3d and mention your
other problem.
