You can now get your own account and disk space on the 'old sdf'.
Currently Cameron Kaiser of floodgap.com intends to get his buckd
gopher server running. We never did run the UMD server (or NCSA
httpd) on this host when it was in service.
The host is '3b2.sdf.org' and it is running SVR3.2.1 on a WE32200
3B2/500 system. This machine served between 1994-1997 and was
donated to SDF by Mike Dolan at AT&T Technologies (later Lucent).
We also ran two 3B2/400s and a 310 which were retired to users
once the move to Linux and NetBSD was made.
The 500 is currently on display at the Museum of Communications
in Seattle WA and is available via TELNET 24/7 or via C-NET at
232-0073 on Tuesdays when the #5 Crossbar switch is running.
Please be gentle...
