It seems my provider doesnt provide news anymore.

In France we have the problem with SFR, a provider without news server.
Too bad.

If you aren't looking to download binaries then try nntp.aioe.org (see
www.aioe.org for setup). They are free. I've been using them for my BBS
newgroup feeds for years without issue.
