Sure, I'll help both of you out as I have versions 1.7, 2.01 and the
2.05 update (which is the latest and final version as far as I know).
I have no problems sharing these files since you need an original dongle
(LOG-3) in order to use them.
But where should I upload them? Any Atari FTP sites which could store
them for anyone to access later on as well?
In the meantime I'll ZIP compress them to make everything ready.

It's been a while, but I just realized that I have an FTP site myself
with loads of Atari ST MIDI software already, so I've just uploaded
everything there. Enjoy!
ftp://gem.win.co.nz/hall/midi/sequencer/logic/
You'll find the following in that directory:
- Logic 1.7 (the complete Emagic Logic 1.7 Atari ST package)
- Logic 2.01 (the complete Emagic Logic 2.01 Atari ST package and
Notator SL 3.21)
- Logic 2.5 update (update package which brings Logic to the final
version 2.5. You need a previous version of Logic
to make it complete. I suggest version 2.01)
- Logic extras (stuff for Logic that I downloaded from the Emagic
website several years ago. Probably long gone by now).
PS: The LOG-3 hardware that comes with Logic actually supports Notator
SL as well (ONLY the final version; 3.21). Actually Notator SL came on
one of the floppy disks in the Logic 2.01 package.
NEVER use a Notator SL (or Creator SL) dongle together with the LOG-3.
The LOG-3 has that dongle built in, and using both at the same time will
most likely damage some/all of your Emagic and/or Atari ST hardware.
... while you're there, also have a look around the rest of the FTP site
for other MIDI software.
A web interface with more details surrounding the files is available
here: http://atari.nvg.org/launchpad/pages/midi.html
(go to the "Downloadable MIDI software" section).

You're most welcome.
Glad to be of help :-)

I've recently bought a copy of Cubase Score, and want to use it with my
ST set-up for mixer maps etc. I currently have a UnitorN and a Unitor2,
as well as LOG-3. I use the 'N' in one ST and the 2 in the other (along
with the LOG-3). What I'd like to know is - can I use the Cubase dongle
with the Unitor2 and LOG-3, or will the same hardware clash/damage be
likely to result?
Thanks
JD
Wow...Logic is going to take some practice.........
Is there a Logic Audio Falcon? I recall reading somewhere it was
released in various alpha and beta stages but never really 'sold' as a
solid product.
Just courious.

I really have no idea, but I suppose it wouldn't cause any problems as
it has nothing to do with Logic or Notator SL.
I don't know specifically why you can't insert a Notator SL dongle into
the LOG-3, but it's probably something to do with having much of the
same copy-protection circuitry which'll cause conflicts, but I'm really
just guessing here.
The warning comes in the readme file on the Logic disks and there's no
mention of cartridges/dongles in general. I've actually got a "Combiner"
myself (http://www.notator.org/html/notator_faq.html#combiner) which I'm
currently using with an "X-alyzer" (DX-7 editor) dongle. I've also used
it with an Korg M-3 editor dongle as well as a "Polyframe" dongle. Had
no problems.
If I were you I'd try to find a Cubase discussion forum and ask there.
I'm sure there are Cubase-Atari users somewhere to be found, seeing that
my mailing list for Notator/Creator SL users (http://www.notator.org)
has over 150 members.

Hallvard,
I would like to mirror this ftp site. This will entail an initial
download of the entire ftp site contents which possibly could incur you a
charge. Would it be okay for me to suck down the entire contents and
mirror your ftp on Atari-source.com?
Thanks,
Mark

Charge? As in having to pay money? Not sure what you mean?

I appreciate you asking but I'd prefer if you link to it instead.
I've got a (pretty outdated) MIDI section of my (yet again outdated)
Atari ST website which links to the MIDI files with brief summaries:
http://launchpad.atari.net.nz/pages/midi.html
(even though the links to other sites are outdate, my own stuff is still
there and I have no plans for removing it).
I haven't added the Logic and X-alyzer stuff to it (the web page), and
don't know if I ever will (I kept updating that site for years, but
life's too short..), so if you like you can add a link to the FTP site
as well, or instead (which the above website points to anyway) as
mentioned earlier on and quoted at the beginning of this posting.

Yes, I was worried perhaps that the ISP that hosts the FTP will charge for
the excessive bandwidth utilization of sucking down the whole FTP site.
Mostly I was more interested in archiving the site, not necessarily that
there will be a ton of updates. I think it's important to get atari
software to as many places as possible to make sure it never disappears.
Thanks,
Mark
