Man, has this newsgroup gone to pot...

This is the first time I've poked my head around in the comp.sys.*
hierarchy for several years, and I must admit that the death of the
c.s.atari.advocacy and c.s.amiga.advocacy is quite sad. At one time,
those were the most entertaining groups on usenet. Does anyone else
remember Sinclap, Marc Barrett, and Lord Thanatos? Those guys
provided some pretty good laughs :) !

Oh well, enough of this nostalgia trip, time to get back to the real
world ;) .

PS: It seems that usenet in general is a calmer place than it was
5-10 years ago, I guess due to the ascendency of the World Wide Web.

PPS: I wonder what Sinclap is up to these days. Is he still
continuing his crusade against the Jack Tramiel, the Jaguar, and
everything Atari?

PPPS: The alt.music.* hierarchy is also dead :(

I remember them well. I've contributed to the decline, I've been away
from the newsgroups for a long time.
