I would think the answer is all of 'em. Any Atari Company or
third-party drive that can be used with any other Atari 8-bit
should be useable with the 65XE. However, you might not have
enough RAM to comfortably run a DOS program on the 65XE. Check
to make sure it's been upgraded to at least 48K RAM.

There should be room enough for DOS, unless a Ramdisk is also required.
Could be you were thinking of a 600XL?

never tested mine with one. It has the SIO port, so why not?

The most common that works is probably the Atari 1050 diskette
drive unit, for 5.25 inch floppies. The design of the 1050 matches
the XL series of computers and peripherals. I think there is a
diskette drive that has the XE look. Gray, modernized design.
You can also use the Atari 810 unit that matches the Atari
400, 800 design. Unmodified 810 units offer 80 kilobytes of
storage capability, while the 1050 offers more, close to
130 kilobytes I think.
You cannot use drive units matching the ST series of computers
with the 65XE. The ST drives can be regonized by looking at the
diskette format. They are all for 3.5 inch diskettes.

Yeah. But still, if I got hold of a 65XE the first thing I'd
want to do after getting it connected up would be to check to make
sure it had the full complement of (at least) 48K RAM! <grin!>

use the selftest (with Basic off) and you will see 48k RAM plus 16k ROM.
And if you have a newer 65XE (eastern europe) and upgraded it to 128k
RAM, you will also see 4 more blocks, which represent the 4 additional
rambanks...
