Hi everyone,

The next item I need is a LittlePower IIGS. I constructed my own
adapter, but then I remembered that the PicoPSUs as well as most newer
ATX power supplies don't provide -5V, so I guess I need a
LittlePower. Alternatively, if no one has a LittlePower, does anyone
know of a circuit I can build to get -5V from a new ATX power supply,
I am totally fine with that too. Thanks everyone!

All you need is a regulator that outputs -5V from a -12V input. Such a circuit is outlined on Drew's website here:
http://drewbiegs.wordpress.com/2009/10/22/replacement-gs-powersupply-complete/

I've used the same circuit in a power supply replacement myself.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Mike

I´m using a DC/DC galvanic converter 5v>5V with reverse output.
eg. Aimtec AM2D-0505 400mA with 78% efficiency
Very small, simple to use, no heating...

James Littlejohn sells direct now that Reactive is not available. His site is undergoing revamp (http://8bitsystem.com/) but you can e-mail him at:

Thanks guys for all your suggestions. I emailed James just after I
posted my question but I haven't heard back from him yet. If he
doesn't get back to me in a week or 2 I will persue the other
suggestions. Thanks so much guys!

You could just replace the innards of the power supply with a nice quad output supply like this one: EOS LFMVLT80-4000

Jameco Part no. 2081721
Manufacturer EOS POWER USA INC.
Manufacturer no. LFMVLT80-4000
http://www.jameco.com/Jameco/Products/ProdDS/2081721.pdf

This person used one to fit inside a Vulcan:

Another option is purchasing a Liteon PE-5221-08 220Watt power supply and moving the guts to the Apple power supply case.

Lots of details here:

Holy cow... that looks like it might even fit inside a //c... (time to get out the ruler.)

He might be out hunting, or traveling for work. I'll give him a call this evening and see if he knows you're looking for him.

The Littlepower is a very nice adapter.

I don't know if it's commmon knowledge or not, but Littlejohn also has an internal Littlepower + battery solution for the IIc Plus.

//c+ yes -- but the //c+ had a different power design from the //c. I think it is a feasible plan to remove the modular power converter box from a //c and the round din plug in favor of a standard 3-pin plug and a more modern internal power supply. I've been wanting to execute this mod on my //c for some time, just not had the time to plan it out. I think if I spent the required amount of time on it I would have an upset spouse and disappointed children. :-D
