Does anyone out there know where I can find the driver for an
Imagewriter II? I want to hook it to an old Mac IIsi. I'm also looking
for some kids shareware that will run on this system... it's for a
1st/2nd grade classroom.

Thanks,
John

You've posted to the wrong newsgroup. This group is for Apple II series
of computers.

To answer your question... The driver for the Imagewriter II is among
your System Software diskettes that shipped with the IIsi. Find the
diskettes, run the Installer, click on "custom", then select the
appropriate printer. Also, the System Software diskettes should be the
same version as the currently installed system folder on the IIsi.

Thanks Bryan and sorry about that... I'm new to the Apple/Mac world.
Unfortunately I don't have the system disks. These computers were
donated "as is". I'm trying to get them set up for a new 1st/2nd grade
teacher in a very poor school district, whose classroom has absolutely
nothing. I appreciate your response.

Regards,
John

DRivers for imagewriters are normally included in the system software. That
really should not be a problem. If not you can get them from apple's website
for older systems.

I think the last version of the ImageWriter II driver for the Mac came
with system 7.01. It hasn't been on the last several system cd I've
gotten for OS 8.x and 9. So, I've kept the old ones around.

System 7.01 is posted for free download on the apple web site, as is
7.5.3 which would have the same version of the Imagewriter driver.

It's still there on my Mac OS 8.1 CD and still at version 7.0.1. Ironically
the CD came with my iMac, which has no serial ports anyway. You have to do a
custom install to get it.
