Hi again,

I'm also searching for the manual and disks for the Apple 80 column and RGV
card (699-0221).
No luck on Asimov...

Thanks.

These contain demo's that show off the various modes, and some
ampersand routines for DHR graphics which use the EDASM relocating

The only mode not covered from memory is the somewhat undocumented
160x192x16 "ultra-hires" (heh) mode

In my file listing of downloaded files, I had a 75MB(!) PDF scan of
the manual (it wasn't OCR'ed, hence the file size). I can't remember
where it was downloaded from, but the file name I have is
"AppleColorAdaptorCardManual.pdf".

Thanks Craig but this is the 80 column card manual, not the 80 Column RGB
card.

Thanks for that. I happened across a Video 7 card recently, with no
manual... this helps.

It's the same card - Apple simply sold a slightly different card in
the end, but if you look at the manual cover you can see where the
"Apple Computer" is a sticker - placed over where it said "VIDEO-7" in
the square italic style logo.

All that stuff was done by Walt Broedner and marketed by Video 7
mostly, except the AppleColor 100 card and monitor.

Oh, that happens all the time. Everyone will download everything even if
they don't need it.

When I uploaded the GNO archive, I got about 6 downloads in the first hour.

Reviving this old thread a little bit -- how does the video part of
the Ext 80 Column RGB card work? Does it have its own video circuitry
(including the char generator) and does it read the video memory on
its own, independent of that from the main board video circuitry?

Reason I asked is I've been playing with this Teknika RGB card (which
I think is also licensed from Video7 like the Amdek RGB cards). It
seems to behave the same way as the video part of the Ext 80 Column
RGB card. However, it sits in slot #7, which frees up my AUX slot for
other kinds of memory cards (RamWorks III, for example) or even
another Ext 80 Column RGB card.

If the video circuitry for these cards are independent, can the cards
be somehow modded to ALWAYS read from page 2 of video memory? That
is, ignoring the PAGE2 softswitch setting? Then with a couple of
cards -- I can have a multi-monitor setup (one displays from page 1,
and the other displays from page 2). Of course, no existing software
can make use of it; and certain software that use page switching for
scrolling and such will break. But still...

Nick thank you very much for the link

One more question please, maybe you know where can I find demo disk for video card Taxan 410-80 (I have the disk but cannot read it)

Thank you

Well, someone asked for it here a few years back, but the given link is dead.
https://groups.google.com/d/topic/comp.sys.apple2/jO1_8xERsxA/discussion

You could try emailing the authors of those posts.
Or perhaps Antoine or someone knows them. (They appear to be French.)

Cheers,
Nick.

Sorry, that was the manual - you were asking about the disk.

If isn't this one I don't know.

You mean for the Taxan 410?

The A2D Project looks a bit muddled on this.

Here in the IIe section it has the RGB-IIB, which is for the II+.
https://mirrors.apple2.org.za/Apple%20II%20Documentation%20Project/Interface%20Cards/Apple%20IIe/Kaga%20Taxan%20RGB-IIB%20Interface%20Card/

Also in the photos folder there's a "v2" photo which is the same photo as this:
https://mirrors.apple2.org.za/Apple%20II%20Documentation%20Project/Interface%20Cards/80%20Column%20Cards/Kaga%20Taxan%2080%20Column%20Card/Photos/
(Though the photos have some different colour processing.)

It would be good to have the manual that PhilZ gave to Jesse, formerly at:
http://ressources-dsk.site.voila.fr/taxan/taxan410_08.pdf

Cheers,
Nick.

Yes, I know.

I've tried the Google Groups "Reply privately to author" feature to email PhilZ and jesse.

That's all I can think of unless Antoine knows them or has the 410 manual.

Cheers,
Nick.

I've uploaded to asimov.

Jerry would you please show, where is it.

Once an item is uploaded to the /incoming folder of Asimov, please wait a couple of days before it is available.

I've re-ordered the Kaga Taxan folders:
- The RGB-II is now in the Interface cards / Video section,
- The others are in the Interface cards / 80 Columns cards section,
- I've added a pic for the 410-07 (a clone?) that I have here.

Thanks Jerry!
It's turned up here now:
ftp://ftp.apple.asimov.net/pub/apple_II/documentation/hardware/video/taxan410_08.pdf

Looks like it's the manual for the IIB for the II+ and IIe though, not the 410-80 which Antoine (for some reason!) only has a photo of. ;-)

OK, the pic shows what is really the 400-80 card, or the Video 7 one.
The manual I scanned is for another card :-)
I'll keep digging and correct the entries on the Apple II Documentation Project site.

The manual of the IIe-80 is now moved to its own entry, hence it is removed from the 410-80 one.
