Thanks. I was able to test it over the weekend with a universal adapter.
It seems to work, by typing 'PR#1' from Applesoft I was able to print text
to the parallel printer from my old Apple II Plus clone. I'll have to try it
for fonts and graphics next.
How compatible were these adapters for hooking up a IIgs to an inkjet
or laser printer? I'd imagine it'd be very slow but it might be worth hanging
on to if it means keeping a slot free from a parallel card.

Do you have the exact URL? (unless the manual is called "Grappler
9 pin", in which case I've already found it).

It's quite some time since I used one. Last time was on a IIc using a
roland
printer. That was when I decided I needed something more recent than a II+
Maybe someone else has more recent experience.
