I am looking to upgrade my Mac Plus to 4MB RAM (max). It has 4 30-pin
SIMM slots. A quick look into my memory box reveals 4 SIMM's with these
markings:

AAA1M300J-06
NMBS 9222 V3

...on each of the 8-chips per SIMM

A quick search revealed this:

"30 pin (tin) 1 Meg SIMMs - 9) AAA1M300J-07 single sided chips"

So it seems the -07 chips make up a 1MB SIMM (I am hoping these are 1MB
SIMM's). I assume the -06 v -07 is a speed issue? I just need < 140ns,
and these _must_ be faster than that. Any verification?

Thanks.

Your SIMMs are 1 Meg 60ns.

If I had a memory box I probably wouldn't forget so much. :)

They should be 60ns SIMMs. The only problem MIGHT be that they
latch on noise, and therefore give you the appearance of memory problems
that aren't really there.

But they might not - it would be worth trying.

I've done a lot of those upgrades. I had no problem with the various types
of 1 meg SIMMs, either the 2 or 8 chip variety or the 3 or 9 chip types. You
will need to clip a resistor after the upgrade to let the Mac know you've
upgraded the memory. You should be able to find the details on line by
doing a search.

I have seen them as slow as 150ns. Back in them old days when they first
came out. And I am sure I still have some, I currently have 80 pounds worth of
1 Meg SIMMs to recycle someday. Approximately 9000 SIMMs.

I've got a few 120nS SIMMs - you want them? <grins>

Yes, they did. Standard issue on 2M and 4M Mac Pluses was 120nS.
