Ramito has been a little hobby of mine but you may know of only one.
If you would like to see the real Ramito, look on a website I have been
creating in honor of his music; there is a video clip as well. Enjoy!

I have been spending a few hours every day breaking things down & packing
up. I must say it is really sad because I felt a great deal of support
from the A2 community & it made all the work seem worth it knowing that,
somewhere out there if not on my campus - folks saw the value of what we
were doing.

I have been recuing Apple IIs since 1986, check out

http://www.n2.net/clairemont/A2/mstones.html

& was planning on keeping the lab a living monument to a great machine,
but now.....

Well I'm sure wherever I land I'll set up a tricked out GS or two in my class :)

Of course, you'll still be showing up on the NGs, right?

I'm sure that the all-knowing powers that be in San Diego City School's
"Blueprint for Success" know that using an Apple II computer is about as useful
as learning Spanish in Southern California.

for sure. In the end, not working so hard to keep the lab moving forward
will mean more time just to kicj back & enjoy my GS! :)

goo one Jay, can I use it on the webpage?

Actually things the "BLUEPRINT" is a huge controversy - The school board
hired a lawyer as superintendent & things have really heated up - last
board meeting there was a lot of name-calling etc - no trust, secret
agendas, moving forward w/ "plans" that seem unplanned, a highly-paid
"chacellor or education" flown in periodically from NY, his condo on
Coronado Island here paid for by business interests -quite a contoversy in
nationa ED circles, we'll see how it turns out....

Is the website going to remain up? I've never read it and don't have
the time right now.

Yeah, right. Is there someone 'in charge' of the San Diego schools to
whom emails might be sent regarding the decision to close your lab?

Well that is just a by-product. (?)

The decision was they didn't need me on campus - new priorities - and
do you think anyone *wants* a "state of the art" apple II lab? Nope.

So unless I haul it all away w/ me to my next school, it is history.
And I dont know where I am going or if new site can/will accomodate.

Now, it *would* be fun to get letters of support of the retro-lab that
put Clairemont High 'on the map'. There is a bit of a story {that I
may tell on the webpage at some point} about an inept admin who
preferred to have me gone than on site to "stir up trouble" about the
way the school is "run".

The man actually put the kabosh on an email discussion {which I started}
of problems at the school!!!

So going "A2- global" to show the lab was important & his 'decisions'
are both visible to a larger community & not entirely supported would be
great.

I will be put of town for 2 weeks, but anyone who feels inspired to
send an email it will be appreciated, forwarded, published on the
unofficial CHS webpage etc.

csa2 folks, Y2K fest folks, cranks & crackpots - send me your emails!

Ah maybe I am just feeling feisty as saw Dylan last night & it was a
helluva show! And as Van sings --- I don't fade away!!!!
