how do i load a finder for the gs with a rom3 i just get a moveing apple cursor
when istart the machine i tryed to install a gs/0s but it eject the 0s

You get this bouncing apple when you do not have a valid start-up disk
available. Apparently you have not created a bootable diskette for your
IIgs. I will assume it does not have a hard drive. You can order a
bootable diskette form www.a2central.com for $2US. I'd suggest you
start there and maybe try and pick up a Focus hard drive from
www.Allelec.com for well under $100 and it will be pre-loaded with a lot
of things you'll need.

Also, make sure your control panel settings are set so that slot 5 is set to
"SmartPort" and your boot disk is set to either "Scan" or "Slot 5". You can
get into the control panel by pressing Control-Apple-ESC then choosing
"Control Panel" or by holding down the option key when you turn on your
Iigs, then selecting the option to enter the Control Panel. The Slots
screen is the one you want.
