Hi Guys,
With all this talk of cracking lately - which I might add has been
mighty interesting as well as invaluable to preserving this old software
- I recently received an original copy of Colossus Chess 4.0 (by CDS
Software Ltd) with the disk in mint condition (looks brand new!).
Now, I've had a look on the usual sites and I don't see a full disk
version out in the wild. The only copies I've come across are found on a
compilation of chess programs (Sargon, Microchess, etc) with cracktro's.
I created a NIB image of the disk using Brutal Deluxe's new "I'm fEDD
Up" utility (which is also very cool BTW), but it doesn't get past the
main title screen in AppleWin.
If there are no full version images out there, is anyone up for another
crack? Is it worthwhile preserving this game in its original state? I
believe it was one of the better chess programs for the Apple II (from
reading some old reviews).
I can send my current NIB (or create a new one using 1/2 or 1/4 tracks
if required) if anyone is interested?
Let me know.

Mike
