Rémy Gibert is working on a new multitasking OS for the 8-bit enhanced
Apple IIe and has made *quite* a lot of progress, and also has developed a
TCP/IP stack within this OS that can do DHCP and DNS resolution. There is
also a screen editor and an assembler. Everything is done in assembly
language.

He has put out a call for assembly language developers. If you have an
enhanced IIe, a IIc, or a IIgs, you can also help by running the system on
your machine (not emulator) and reporting what works and what doesn't.

Take a look at the project here:

https://github.com/burniouf/A2osX

Download the boot disk here and test it out on real hardware:
https://github.com/burniouf/A2osX/blob/master/A2OSX.BOOT.po

He will welcome your feedback about what works and what doesn't work. We are
currently testing the RamWorks III driver. It's having problems detecting
the RamWorks and the total number of banks on my platinum Apple IIe.

Please take some time to boot the system and hold down Open-Apple while
booting to see whether the RamWorks card was detected or not on your
hardware.

I saw the RAMWORK Drive load, but it did not detect my RAMWORK III with
512K.

( Apple //e Enhanced, with RAMWORK III with 512K, Super Serial Card in
Slot #2, Uthernet II in Slot #3, 5.25" Drive Card in Slot #6 )

Go to GitHub project page [https://github.com/burniouf/A2osX] and click the Issues tab, then click the green "New Issue" button, then fill in the form. Once you try it, you'll see it's dead simple :)

Try checking now, it has come a long way.

This project is monumental and yet the author doesn't promote it so do check it out:

https://github.com/burniouf/A2osX

He requests help in some areas such as needing documentation from "appletalk programmer's guide for the apple II". Anyone have this obscure manual?

The Syndicomm online store is defunct now, it was most recently owned & run by the late Tony Diaz who died suddenly in late 2021. www.a2central.com has also vanished for the same reason, Tony was hosting that URL too. When I tried the store.syndicomm.com URL just now, I got a ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT in my Chrome browser.
