The following is a reasonably comprehensive tutorial on round-trip
conversion of Lo-Res and Double Lo-Res graphics file conversion and title
screen generation between Windows and the Apple IIe running ProDOS 8:

http://www.aztecmuseum.ca/AppleX_LoRes_Double_LoRes.zip

The tutorial requires the following download which also contains the
tutorial document and all my programs discussed in the turial and of course
their source code:

http://www.aztecmuseum.ca/LORES_DOUBLELORES_TEXT_AWINDLO_TUTORIAL.pdf

This download is the almost complete Lo-Res and Double Lo-Res portion of the
2013 update for the AppleX Aztec C65 MS-DOS/Windows cross-compiler for
creating ProDOS 8 and Aztec C Shell Programs for the Apple IIe.

Everything in this download will be included with the 2013 AppleX update,
but additional Lo-Res and Double Lo-Res documents will be added. The
programs will remain as is.

The 2013 AppleX update will also include a similar framework for Color and
Monochrome Hi-Res and Double Hi-Res Apple IIe display modes which are almost
complete, and many other additions that are now supported by the G2
(Graphics 2) runtime library.

All source code and disk images are also included.

Some of the features of the Lo-Res and Double Lo-Res portion in the download
before you today are:

1. Creating Screens from "Text File" layout scripts
2. Creating Screens from AppleWIn Screen Captures
3. Creating Screens from Native Apple II "Minipix"
4. Titling both native LGR and DLGR files and BMP files for conversion from
"Text File" layout scripts.
5. Slideshows and Loaders for LGR and DLGR
6. Source Code

And more. But the tutorial will give you a place to start. I consider this
the final beta but if I am wrong let me know.

Enjoy!

Regards,

Bill Buckels

The original post reversed the links... it should have read as follows:

This tutorial has been updated to reflect the capabilities of a newly
extended font set that provides graphics characters for generating
box-graphics as well as multi-lingual characters in addition to standard
text characters in the overlaying and generating title screens and so forth
for both the Lo-Res and Double Lo-Res modes of the Apple IIe.

The compiler and related distributions will be updated sometime tomorrow.
Please read the documentation if you are interested in such a thing. Clear
your browser cache (Temporary Internet Files) if you recently downloaded the
previous version a couple of days back.

Regards,

Bill
