I have changed my mind on this! I will not limit where I will ship things to purchasers. I will ship world wide, but I cannot guarantee the delivery services of other countries postal service companies.

Shipping and Handling will still be an extra charge.

I am sorry, but shipping and handling charges and restrictions make shipping of anything to Europe practically impossible! My minimum S/H charge would be $100.00.

How do you explain that? What has changed?
I have received hundreds of items for years from the USA to France with no troubles.

I have two hardware items to add to my for sale list, but I will only sell them together (as is) as one sale item:

Mountain Computer, Inc., Expansion Chasssis.

These are for use with the Apple II computer.--[And, maybe the Apple II Plus computer; but not for the Apple IIc/IIe/eIIe/IIgs computers.]

Here are a couple of links to two different 'Operating Manual's:

http://www.applefritter.com/files/Mountain%20Expansion%20Chassis.pdf

ftp://ftp.apple.asimov.net/pub/apple_II/documentation/hardware/misc/Mountain%20Hardware%20Expansion%20Chassis.pdf

The manuals can tell you more about how to use these Expansion Chasssis.

The two I have are more like one and a half. One is complete with Power Supply (120vac transformer block that plugs into a wall outlet and into the MH-EC) and Apple II Peripheral Interface card. The other one is incomplete; it is missing the power supply and interface card and the top cover plate; and the back is rusty. Also, the two MH-EC motherboards are different (versions/models). I do not know if they work. I never used them. [They were hocked to me for a loan that was never paid off. So, essentially, I bought them!] They have been out in my garage for about 25 years. These would be suitable for an Apple II/II+ owner who likes to fix and experiment with old electronics.--[like JORGE! ;-)]

I would trade them both for an Apple II Super Serial Card (with connector cable).

Looking at the two different MH-EC motherboards and comparing them to the pictures in the two different operating manuals, it appears that I have one of each. The one with the rectangular grid of holes is the complete one [from red manual]. [I wonder if those holes are for experimental/bread-boarding purposes.] The one without the holes is the incomplete one [from blue manual].

James,
are you serious about the trade for Apple super serial card and connector. If so I would like to trade.

Geoff,

That is not important to me. I cannot use them. They have been packed away, unused, in my garage for approximately 25 years, which is way too long. I need/want an Apple II Super Serial Card. I am willing to trade them for a good one. Somebody else can use them if they are salvageable.

Just so that you are fully aware (if you are not already), if you listed the expansion chassis on eBay you'd probably be looking at $300-$500 each (maybe more??) depending on their condition (I have not looked at your images). For some people, these are *very* desirable (almost holy grail items). From what I can tell, they are very rare.

To put it in perspective, an Apple II Super Serial Card can be had for approx $20-$30 and they are as common as muck.

Are you sure you want to be *that* generous? :-)

Cheers,
Mike

Hi Poly Morph,

I really did not know how valuable they were, but I have already negotiated a deal, and I will not rescind it. The SSC is already in transit and once received will not be refused. The situation is as I stated above; and, an implicit promise was made that I would trade them for an SSC as soon as I posted it above, so I will stick by it.

Also, there are no images to see; I do not do digital photography; and, I do not buy and sell things on the public internet (e.g., eBay).

Yours truly,

James Davis

I found some old schematic diagrams of the "Mountain Computer Expansion Chassis (MC-EC)," so I just uploaded them to Asimov/incoming.

The two Mountain Computer, Inc., Expansion Chassis I had have been traded. Any inquiries about them should be addresses to their new owner. I will not forward them. If the new owner wants to tell the world who s/he is, s/he can do so here, in reply to this post.

Not from Steve Ciarcia. About 15 years ago, I wrote to him about it. He
sent me several cards and documents he had left at the time. I donated it
all to KansasFest several years ago for the Garage Giveaway.

Maybe you’ll hear from one of the recipients. ;-)

Looking for LIS'NER 1000 Rev. 2.0 Speech Recognition for Apple II, originally ©1984 Circuit Cellar, Inc. but was also in The Micromint collection.

And person who can do normal international trade with common modern methods.
I know that ship overseas via USPS Priority Mail Express International, and a one-pound box would be $69 for the postage alone.

Advertisement text from Byte, May 1985 (Note: original prices from 1985 are for new, unused items. Current value have to evaluate case by case.)
The LIS' NER 1000 provides voice input capability for your computer.
The unit functions in the same manner as your keyboard, serving as a
date entry device for application programs or the normal operation
of the computer.
The LIS' NER 1000 recognition system works by analyzing human speech
and extracting the most important features, These impressions of
words are compacted into "templates" which can be stored and later
compared to someone talking to the recognition unit. The LIS' NER
1000 supports a 64 word vocabulary in speaker dependent, discrete
utterance mode. The recognition accuracy is greater than 98%. Each
unit comes with a professional quality headband style electret
microphone to assure accuracy, software on diskette and a user's manual.

The APPLE II LIS' NER board has provision for an SSI 263 phonetic speech
synthesizer chip with text-to-speech algorithm, this addition provides all
the features described for the Sweet Talker II as well as speech recognition.
