With no battery on the card, I was still able to set the clock, read the time, and the time was accurate as long as I had power to the computer. When I shut down the computer, the time was lost.
Each day the clock chip was reset when I gave it the new time. The clock worked for about a month this way up until I tried the new 65c02 chip. So I am pretty sure I did some permanent damage to the clock chip.
