I had a spare HD with DomainOS 10.4 installed, coming from a 400t.
Didn't notice that the 400t, having a 68040 25MHz, was identified as SAU11 and
on the HD had been deleted the other SAUxx directories.
So I installed it in a "real" 400t without HD, 68030, ending in a missing SAU12.
Now's the question.
I can't netboot it through another 400t/425t, since all the 4xx I have (four)
are SAU11, without SAU12 dir.
I don't want to use tapes to perform the installation.
I own a copy of the full 10.4xx installation directory.
I planning this operation.
1) Netboot through a DN3500 (I have a full installation)
2) transfer with FTP the installation directory to the HD of the SAU12 machine.
Then ? I think I should start the installation... am I missing something ?

Hmm, and if I only add /sau11 to the 10.4 disk ? Will everything work ?
Or there are other CPU dependent code portions ?

No need to FTP (and setup TCP/IP); just
1. netboot the 400t from the DN3500
2. at the 400t mount the scsi disk (/com/mtvol w6:0 /w6)
3. at the 400t copy tree /sau12 to /w6/sau12
4. shutdown and reboot the 400t from its own disk

the sau directory should be all you need; but make sure you are using
the same software release on both machines
