Has anyone ported RCS to Amiga? If so, where can it be found?

In one issue of (the excellent but now discontinued) magazine
'Amiga World Tech Journal' was an article about a direct port
to AmigaDOS of rcs for UNIX.

The complete software package was included on the enclosed disk.
Try to get that one!

Hello,
There are at least two ports of RCS 5.6 available. I am currently
using HWGRCS56, which can be found on aminet. It's a full port of
unix RCS.

Yes, it has been ported. RCS 4.3 is available (if you can get back issues)
in the AmigaWorld Tech Journal.

A more recent version (RCS 5.6) has been posted to AmiNet as rcs_56.lha (or
similar). *However*, this is a "beta" version (not marked as such, but from
e-mail to the author, the bugs sound similar). It's also no longer
supported (the author has gone to MS-DOS).

Finally, the most recent (and supported) RCS 5.6 was uploaded in the last
week, on AmiNet sites in dev/misc/hwgrcs.lha and dev/misc/hwgrcssrc.lha.

I am just wondering.. what is there to support?!
My own RCS is direct compilation of original unix-sources, not a
single change to sources was needed.
Hmm.. well, Makefile had to be enhanced for dmake :-)

Then, the question is, has anyone ported `cvs' (a frontend for RCS)
to Amiga?

Yes! Yippee! Whee! Boy, I wish I knew about it back in November when I was having
serious version control headaches...

Try amiga.physik.unizh.ch or any Aminet mirror, and look in dev/misc. (I'm
pretty sure about that.) It's a GNU tool, and it works great! You may need
to get GNU DIFF too, but I think it came with everything needed. (I was installing
diff, make, patch, and RCS all at the same time, so I got a bit confused about
what belonged to who... :)

Yep. I found it on amiga.physik.unizh.ch, wuarchive.wustl.edu, and other
aminet sites somewhere in the /amiga/dev/ directory (/misc, I think)..
