How to set AriadneII in full duplex

Recently, I've discovered that my AriadneII ethernet card is working in
half duplex. I've been looking at the User's Manual and there it shows
how to configure the card to work in full duplex. I've followed the
guidelines (creating a config file, copying it to envarc:, etc) but
card is still running in half duplex. Ifconfig command (from Genesis)
shows the interface as simplex.
Can anybody explain me what I have to do to set my AriadneII in full
duplex? Please, if possible, in a step by step guide.
