Now I know this is likely near-impossible... but is there a way to
network an A4000 into an XP machine without any add-in hardware? I
remember the nightmare i had trying to PARnet two windows machines
together. So i don't know if the headache is worth it... but when i
finally get a replacement 4000 I would very much like to have internet
access with it using my XP machine as a hub.

Anyway I'd also eventually like to setup a BBS-looking site to post my
MODs and MEDs to. Something about those old BBS days... somehow it
was better than the graphical crapshow we have now.

Okay so essentially: has anyone done a PARnet or possibly a modem
(yes! I found my 2400 Baud external! hahaha good times) network
between a 4000 (assume OS3.9) and a windows machine?

If speed does not matter, you can connect the A4000 via the serial
interface. I did not do it myself (as most of my amigas have a NIC
installed), but this should work.

May I ask why you look specifically for a non-card solution?

I think you should consider getting a card as a kind of investment. I
know, for ordinary pc hardware this is bad advice, however, for most
amiga hardware, prices have been stable or have gone (sky)high. A card
will certainly ease any of your amiga networking operations.
