A friend of mine has a 8Mb HAWK board and an External Hard drive (PMCICA)
With 8Mb configured the A1200 does not work, I remember a while back reading
about such problems, I wondered if there is some sort of work around?

If anybody has any ideas/suggestions can you please email me:

Thanks for your help.

Apparently there is a fix known as the 'peel chip upgrade' that should sort
out the PCMCIA prob. If you look at the hawk board, theres a chip on it that]
says Peel, so presumably you just upgrade the chip. Supposedly this is free,
but you are supposed to get your dealer to do it rather than Amitek.

It should fix some other minor problems with the hawk like dodgy performace
with certain software (Hired Guns always locked up on me when I was usuing
the Hawk, since moving to an MTEC 030 accelerator no problems, even with
the same SIMM chip).

Good luck, and let me know what happens.
