Now with WB 2.1 running on my 2000 the recoverable ram disk RAD: will
come back but none of the files saved to it prior to a reboot are
there...the 'disk' is blank. This is not a recoverable ram disk in
my book. Has anyone figured this one out?

I have an A500 Rev 6, WB2.1 with 2.04 Rom.
RAD: works exactly as it should, with all files copied to it present, either
as Icons if present, or by RMB <WINDOW> <Show> <ALL FILES> ,after rebooting.
Have you FORMATTED RAD: and copied the relevant files before rebooting ?

The standard mountlist entry [for RAD:] in Devs is as follows -

/* This is an example of a mount list entry for using the recoverable
ram disk. Depending on the amount of memory you wish to devote to
it, you may want to change the HighCyl value.
*/

RAD: Device = ramdrive.device
Unit = 0
Flags = 0
Surfaces = 2
BlocksPerTrack = 11
Reserved = 2
Interleave = 0
LowCyl = 0 ; HighCyl = 79
Buffers = 5
BufMemType = 1
#

IT does work !!

Curious. I checked my setup again. It never works !! Mountlist in devs: and
dosdrivers are exactly as above. Rad comes back on reboot only if I request
a DIR from it, etc., but it has been zapped of all contents...always happens.

I'll keep looking for the problem and post any results. Can I be the only one
seeing this happen?

try adding:
BootPri = -128
Mount = 1

Also, make sure you're not reformatting it on reboot...

Interesting. Still, I checked everything, and mine never works, ever. The
RAD is always deleted, and does not put an icon back on the WB. I even
reinstalled from the 2.1 system disks. I have a GVP 40Mhz 68030, but
tried caches on, off, etc. and still no luck. I'm still working on this.

Uhm, well I haven't seen the hole thread, but the answer is in the GVP.
I guess your rad is mounted in the GVP's mem, and that is not autoconfig.
The board add's it to the system later, and that is a no-no it you want a recovering rad.

As far as I can remember there is now way of doing it, except for mounting the RAD in the A2000's (that is what youve got right?) own memory.
