SSH client for AmigaOS?

Is there any free of charge SSH client available that would work in
AmigaOS 3.9? No fancy 24-bit colour GUIs, just a normal window- or even
text-based client. Preferably with SCP support.
This way I would be able to shut down the FTP service in my Linux PC and
only use secure communication on my desktop LAN (which consists of one
cross-switched RJ45 cable) too.

It says it requires "GG environment". What is this and where can I get
it?

I think it should only require the ixemul.library to use the binary, GG
(geekgadgets, i.e. gcc and friends) should only be required to recompile.

GeekGadgets, http://www.geekgadgets.org/. You'll pobably just need
ixemul.library, though, which can be found on aminet as well.

Well, AFAIR AmTelnet does support SSH, at least I'm pretty sure that I used
it for this (and registered because of that) as I connected to my Linux
router via SSH.

Do you check the http://amiga.sourceforge.net/ theses days?

This says "[...] The OpenSSH suite includes the ssh program which
replaces rlogin and telnet, scp which replaces rcp, and sftp which
replaces ftp. Also included is sshd which is the server side of the
package, and the other basic utilities like ssh-add, ssh-agent,
ssh-keysign, ssh-keyscan, ssh-keygen and sftp-server. [...]"

AmTelnet does support SHH - I use it for secure connections to my server.
Its quite the handly program, even though it uses MUI.

Ah, I understand :)

Sadly, AmTelnet is a pretty nice program.

You can switch the GUI in Miami to no MUI, that's what I did.

I understand, but I value MUI-lessness more.

Thanks, but I don't need to. When I still used Miami it was still a
commercial program, and I didn't register. If it has went freeware now,
good for it, but the Genesis that came with AmigaOS 3.9 is better.

No NAT, no DHCP, no miamitelnet ;), probably illegal too. It was a good
idea to register MiamiDX :)

I would have a hard time believing Amiga Technologies would distribute
an illegal copy of Genesis along with their OS. Besides, I don't need
NAT or DHCP as my Amiga gets its own private static IP address from a
subnet that's not visible outside my desk.

OS 3.9 is dostributed by Haage & Partner. Amiga Tech. or Tnc. has
nothing to do with Amiga except geting money for using the name
"Amiga". They wanted to made AmigaDE or something but now they are
probably begging for nickels to pay their mailbox :>>
H&P says Genesi is legal, the AmiTPC people says it's illegal.
I use my a1200 as a router so I need MiamiDX either :)

No, but holger doesnt seem to want to have anything to do with it anymore.

No, thats sad.

..Thats probably a plus.. I think Miamitelnet SUCKS..

Yea, I'm glad that I did before holger disappeared.

I use it pretty often too since I dont have anything better,
but it lacks a scrollback and have problems with 8bit
characters.. especially when telneting to Solaris by some
strange reason.. too bad that most of my UNIX machines is
running.. you guessed it, Solaris :)

you can only use the scrollback window (terminal menu). the 8bit
characters might be wrong on the solaris side :)

Yes, and I dont like that solution at all.. thats more of a logfile
than a scrollback IMHO.

>the 8bit characters might be wrong on the solaris side :)

Maybe, but it works with other clients.

It actually works with Miamitelnet too with some tricks.. first telnet,
then manually choose "8biyt encoding" in miami, then send a CR
and then it work after that.. strange.

When I ssh to a linuxmachine it's 8bit directly.

Well if he's not accepting payments for registration anymore, does that
mean it's abandonware?

I believe that means that under the DMCA, a key can be generated if you
know how to do it, or otherwise given or gotten by you. Legally, I
mean. As there is no other way to activate it and it is no longer being
sold.

No. "abadonware" doesn't really exist.

DMCA is valid only in USA.
