You must have toured MCTV then...they've used Amigas for a long time - but
they still use those crappy Quantafont machines for a lot of their work.

I signed up for classes at my local cable access station so I could get
certified to produce my own shows. Imagine my surprise when I toured the
facilities and saw Amigas everywhere. 3000s with genlocks, 4000s with
toasters. They even use Amigas for automated playback. I can work on
titles and animations at home on my 2000 then bring them into the
studio and record them. My friend who also produces cable access shows
is very envious of me because he has a Mac and can't do any of his
production work at home like I can.

Yeah, sure. One of the power points of the Amiga is that it produces video
signal directly and has lots of efficient software dedicated for video
working. I've made some experimental videos with Amigas equipped with
genlocks at a local video workshop. We made some simple animations with
Real 3D V2 and mixed them with live video track. Then we got some modules
from a friend of mine which were mixed to the background.
